back home and such

We’re back home now, as promised. We pulled into our driveway at around 12:30 Sunday night. We’ve been catching up with various things, such as phone calls and emails. And sleep. I’ve been pretty wiped out, though.

Tomorrow I head into town for my first work meeting of the new year. I don’t really have time to write much, as I have things to do to prepare, and am also going to try to get a workout.

So, I offer up a couple of photos of Phoebe from our travels to illustrate some of the range of emotions she can show.

  1. I’d like to add a note about the “gloom” picture: she’s unhappy because we’re making her open *another* present, instead of letting her play with the present that she just got.

  2. That’s gloom? Was thinking ‘fed up’ and ‘pissed off’, more like… ;D

Anyways, welcome back, Alejna. Hope you have a smooth return to routine. :)

  3. That gloom face is fantastic!

On Christmas Eve, I actually heard a 3 1/2-year-old boy answer “no” to the question “Do you want to open a present?”

This boy hadn’t previously opened anything yet, can’t blame present overload!

  4. I have a weakness for photos of adorable kids in the throes of sadness. Seriously. I fear that reflects badly on my personality, but my heart nearly melted at Gloom.

    Welcome home.

  5. “Have a toy…want to play with toy!”

The adult world is so hard for children to understand…that bottom lip tells the whole story!
