We finally got our tree this past Saturday. Phoebe and I decorated it on Sunday. I put on the star, the lights, and the strands of beads.
Then Phoebe put on ornaments while I made dinner.
She put on just about all of the ornaments.
She put some of them way, way up high!
(Phoebe is about 3 and a half feet tall.)

How adorable!! We had a tree similar to that when Izabel, my cat, figured out how to extricate the crystal ornaments from the bottom half, then the left half by way of the fireplace.

A couple of years ago I went to a tree trimming party that include three small and enthusiastic trimmers. That was one bottom-heavy tree in the end! I love Phoebe’s “up high” effort.

I let Gabi go nuts with the non-breakable ornaments below my waist while I hung the glass and “special” ornaments up high out of kid reach. Ethan, my boy twin, stripped the bottom half of the tree every day at least 3 times a day. I finally gave up re-decorating and now the house is full of jingly bell ornaments.
We did indeed leave the tree as is. Largely because we’ve been too busy, but also because it really amuses us. Glad it provided cheer!
