Would you could you?

green_eggs.jpgHappy Seuss Day!

Today was Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Last year, I celebrated the day with a list of a few things Seussy. This year I’ll offer up a small serving of green eggs and ham for your enjoyment.

  • Jesse Jackson’s inspired reading of Green Eggs and Ham. (Sorry about the poor video quality. It’s what I could find.)

  • Weird Al’s video of Green Eggs and Ham. (To fully appreciate it, you might want to check out U2’s “Numb” video.)
  • Also, be sure to check out this brilliant post from Books Are Pretty, which discusses this “grim tale of stalking and harassment…”

  1. It’s like…a freaky funny trip.

My daughter’s been Seuss-y all this past week. I mean, not in behavior in things she’s doing in school.

Wow, that would have been really strange LOL.

  2. I’ve been trying to read Green Eggs and Ham to the Prawn, but round about the time I’m asking “would you, could you on a train?” she usually wanders off to try to chew on something.

  3. Heheh. Love the Weird Al. I love the Seuss more.

The first musical version I ever heard of Green Eggs and Ham was from a Canadian Group called Moxy Fruvous. There’s a 30 second sample of it here

  4. wow, hot on the heels of A+ monty python, we get this, too. i feel all privileged.

though i must say, it’s nearly disturbing to hear people so vociferously deny any imagined improprieties with a goats…

It was an important event. It should be marked on the calendars so folks don’t miss it.
